It is a New Year. Amen to 2010. This year I have many goals and will be happy to reach them. The main one is to be happy with life. Roll with the punches, take each day as it comes and only worry about what is in my personal realm of control. I live in a constant state of confusion and that is okay! I know where I am and where I am going, and how to get there.
If you are family, thanks for believing in me and standing by my side, for lifting me up in prayers, and giving me your love to see another year.
If you are a friend, thanks for being there and taking the time to care.
If you are a foe, I pray you become a friend for both our sakes!
May we all bless the men and women who serve our country in the name of liberty and freedom. May all our children come home safe, sound and in one piece.
I love you all and wish you the best, brightest, beautiful year ahead!
Each year as the bell tolls we ring in with many wishes...
This year I have but one, my son's return from Afghanistan.
New Beginnings!
Throughout the year I hope for health, happiness and prosperity
Not too much, just enough to survive and get by modestly
What do we really need beyond our health happiness and love?
We need the grace of God, the forgiveness of our friends-
Family to surround us when in need and in times of joy
As well as when in despair. We need the human touch of love,
A dad's gentle hand, guiding us, a loving mom encouraging us
To believe in ourselves and any dream might become a reality.
We need to set goals and then reset when they are met
Or to extend them when they seem unsurmountable.
When the sun rises and we thank God we also need to
Thank our loved ones, I have many, do you?
Name them in your prayers, wrap them in loving thoughts.
Think only good things for there is such power in our words
Thoughts and ideas, lest we invite danger to our wares.
Plans to meet the goals we have, share them with those who help
Us to achieve. Realize mistakes are stepping stones, not failures
They pave the road to success. Learn form them and grow.
Forgive yourself, the hardest one of all, you'll see
Misery does not love company! Be positive and rule out negativity.
Change your mindset to affect change, else the same remains.
Change is constant, the world is constantly in change, adapt.
Ask yourself tough questions, what can I do differently
To achieve the results I need and want? Then do it.
Be realistic, too big a dream is hard to reach, break it down.
Climb the mountain one step at a time and use alternative paths.
The world like like life is circular, what you do comes back to you.
Remember those who you have lost, bless those you have
And take time to smell life, taste it, really see its beauty,
To feel the glory of God's bounty and hear His call.
May your year be filled with blessings from above,
Protected by angels and surrounded by friends
And loved ones who blanket you in wrappings made with love.
